POLL

I have a family obligation this summer in Myrtle Creek Oregon. Not quite family reunion, but almost. Rob and I are flying into Portland and then driving down, planning to stay in Roseburg, not far from Myrtle Creek. I found this amazing looking place and trying to decide if we should fork over the extra 50$/ night or suck it up and stay in the Howard Johnson. Quick poll:

A. Go for it, we might as well enjoy ourselves even if we can't really afford it.

B.
Suck it up. This isn't a holiday, its a family gathering.

Oh dear, that B&B looks really splurge-worthy to me.

Are you going to have time to enjoy the inn or is going to be just a place to rest at night? Alternately, if you are going to have extra time you could still stay at a Ho-Jo's but do a local winery tour with some tasting involved.

How many nights will you be staying there? I would be inclined to splurge, especially if it is only for a few nights. Maybe you could cut back on something else before or after your trip to make up for the extra cost. I'm sure it would be worth it!

If you'll have some time to enjoy the inn, I'd be inclined to splurge. However, if you're only looking for a place to lay your head late at night...well, perhaps I'd save the gem for another time. It does look very nice.

Linda I saw you link Roseburg on your Blog. Thanks for the press. As it happens I work at the Roseburg visitor center so if you need any suggestions on what to do while you are here give us a call. We love to show off our region.

Hey linda sweetness, i think family get togethers can go usually one of two ways- bloody marvelous or just bloody! in which case if it's good then it is like one of the greatest holidays ever and if it is horrid then you have a fantastic dive and cover hole- splurge you owe it to yourselves! hugs Heide

Everytime, I've splurged on a B&B, I've loved it. But then again, the, well, you know ..., is just as good in a HoJo. ;)
